Burnham RNLI Supports Essex Art!
By Claire Rawlinson | June 20, 2010
Burnham on Crouch Art Trail got off to a great start today with the help of the town’s Lifeboat Crew.
The Art Trail Baton was transported across the river by the ‘Lady Essex’ ferry from its previous trail in Leigh on Sea and the ferry was escorted by the Atlantic 75 Lifeboat ‘Brandy Hole’.
To mark the trail moving through Essex, a scroll is being passed to each town with each area taking a turn to decorate a section. The artwork will be unrolled in October at the Rochford Art Trail and displayed at County Hall as part of the Essex cultural olympiad.
Pictured in the boat with the RNLI crew is David Shields, who was bringing the baton over from the Leigh Art Trail.
Receiving the baton on behalf of the Burnham Art Trail are Jenny Hill and Sandy Sykes who are part of the team who will be working on Burnham’s meter of artwork before the baton continues on it’s journey around Essex to the next Art Trail in Braintree on 3rd July.
The Art Trail in Burnham is again supporting the RNLI and in particular this year, the Floating Boathouse Appeal.
