The Burnham on Crouch Lifeboat was launched to assist a 27ft motorboat which had run hard aground on the Ray Sands at the mouth of the river.

There was one person on board and after the Lifeboat Crew had established that the gentleman was safe and well and happy to remain on board his vessel until she had refloated, they returned to station.
