Silence Pays For Appeal!

By Claire Rawlinson | April 21, 2010

The Floating Boathouse Appeal continues to attract supporters from all over the county – and of all ages.

The Ingatestone and Fryerning Cubs visited the station last summer to learn about the Lifeboats, the crew and the kit and equipment they use. As a thank you for the time given up by the crew, they held a sponsored silence to raise funds for the appeal.

Sharon Morrell, Cub Scout Leader said “We went to the station last July and learned about the valuable work the crew does. The children wanted to do something to help with the appeal. They were absolutely brilliantly quiet for a whole hour and raised £340.50!”

Crew members visited the Cubs on the 21st April to receive the cheque and handed out badges to say thank you for their support.
