By Claire Rawlinson | July 19, 2009
Launched from exercise 10:43, Rehoused 14:00
Burnham on Crouch Lifeboats were out on exercise when they were tasked by Thames Coastguard to assist a capsized vessel.
The 18ft open topped sailing boat had capsized near to the Sunken Buxey buoy. The vessels three crew members had managed to right the vessel and had returned on board, however they were extremely fatigued.
A Lifeboat crew member boarded the vessel and a tow to the Lifeboat was secured. She was then taken back to Pagelsham with her crew and the Lifeboats both then returned to station and refuelled ready for their next service.
