Both the Atlantic 75 and IB1 Lifeboats were launched to assist in the search for a missing woman, thought to be in her 70’s and suffering from Alzheimers Disease.

The reports stated that she had last been seen in the region of Brandy Hole, near to South Woodham Ferrers.

The Lifeboats searched both sides of the river extensively, together with Police and Coastguards from Bradwell and Southend. The Police Helicopter also assisted, however despite each Lifeboat scouring both sides of the river a number of times, they were unable to locate the lady and were stood down and returned to station.
