Shout: Person Taken Ill

By Claire Rawlinson | August 5, 2003

Launched 20:15, Rehoused 22:20

The Lifeboat was launched in response to a request to assist a husband and wife crew on a 26′ Sadler yacht anchored near Maplin Edge Buoy.  They were out of fuel and the husband had suffered an asthma attack and wasn’t responding to his medication.

When they arrived on scene, the Lifeboat crew stabilised the man on oxygen and then towed the yacht towards a rendezvous with Sheerness All Weather Lifeboat.  Both people were transferred to the ALB, which then towed the yacht to Queenborough, from where the husband was taken to hospital by ambulance.
