The IB1 Lifeboat was launched today to a report of a person trapped in a car in the River Roach, near to Rochford.

The tide was coming in, however there was not sufficient water to allow the Lifeboat to reach the vehicle without a significant walk in thick mud for her crew.

The Fire Service were not able to reach the casualty from the road and so the RAF Sea King Helicopter was tasked to winch a crew man down and remove the person from the vehicle.
