Shout: Seized Outboard Motor
By James Dorey | June 15, 2000
Launched 13:58, Rehoused 14:25
The Lifeboat was launched to assist a broken-down speed boat reported to be drifting near the entrance to the River Roach with two people on board and no anchor.
The Lifeboat found the speedboat with one of her crew clinging on to one of the large steel buoys marking the electricity cable across the River Crouch just below the town. The casualty turned out to be the same boat that the Lifeboat had assisted only a week previously when she had damaged her gearbox and propellor. Once again the Lifeboat towed her back to Essex Marina.
