Shout: Swimmers In Difficulty
By James Dorey | July 28, 2002
Launched 21:10, Rehoused 21:50
A 75 launched in response to a report that a number of children were in difficulties in the water down tide from the Burnham Sailing Club pontoon.
The LB found five of them clinging to two moored dinghies about 30 yards down tide from the pontoon from which they had been bathing, unaware that the tide had begun to ebb. These were landed on the pontoon.
Two others had floated a further 150 yards on a lilo and come up against the pontoon at Priors Boatyard pontoon from which they were recovered by workers from the yard, who then raised the alarm enabling the others to be rescued.
